Kenneth U. Lucas - Business Transaction Attorney

Kenneth U. Lucas Ken is an experienced attorney in private practice licensed in Michigan in May of 1982. His general practice of law includes an emphasis on real estate, business law, and transactions. Ken is also a real estate broker, licensed in Michigan since July, 1997.

Ken’s entry into M&A began in 1986 as he helped engineer the sale of a private Michigan manufacturing firm in which he was Chief Operating Officer. The acquirer, a public company, appointed Ken as the new subsidiary’s president. Ken ran the business until 1994, bringing it into profitability and 900% sales growth in the difficult and complex automotive supplier market.

Ken graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Calvin College in June, 1977, and with a Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in September, 1981.

Professional memberships include the state Bar of Michigan and the Michigan Business Brokers Association (MBBA). Ken has served on many boards and associations, including several terms as President of the MBBA and President of the Michigan Plastic Processors Association.

Ken lives in East Lansing with his wife, Jane, of over 25 years. Their two children attend the University of Michigan. Hobbies and interests include golf, jogging, reading, and theology. Ken is a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Lansing.
